6 Hour Adult Driver Education
Effective July 1, 2014 Public Act 98-167 requires Illinois driver’s license applicants ages 18, 19, or 20, who have never previously been licensed or completed an approved driver education course, to complete a six hour (6 hr) Adult Driver Education Course.
We are proud to inform that Auto Metro Driving School Inc, was one of the first driving schools that was approved as a licensed provider by Secretary of State Office to offer 6 hrs adult driver education course.
6 Hour Adult Driver Education program covers a variety of traffic safety topics including but not limited to current traffic laws; highway signs, signals and markings; issues commonly associated with motor vehicle crashes such as poor decision-making, risk taking, impaired driving, driver distraction including use of cell phones and text messaging, speed, failure to use a safety belt, driving at night, and failure to yield the right-of-way. The six hour course is composed of classroom time only. It does not include, and is not required to include, any behind-the-wheel training.
After completing the 6 Hour Adult Driver Education program and passing your final test, you will receive an e-mail from the Secretary of State at the e-mail address you provided to our school. This e-mail will include an attachment with your Certificate of Completion. Once you have printed the certificate, bring your certificate to the nearest Secretary of State Facility with your other required identification documents and complete the remaining requirements.
