The 30 hours of classroom instruction are divided into two-hour sessions which usually last 5 weeks. Days and times may vary. The second week of class students should be ready to take the written test at Secretary of State Office. Once the student receives his/her Permit, he/she will be scheduled for a behind the wheel instruction and observation time.
Behind the wheel instructions are scheduled as 1.5 hrs. of driving (90 minutes) and 1.5 hrs. of mandatory observation (except advance course) at a time and are to suit the student’s convenience and also include free pick-up and drop-off within 2-mile radius of our location on Belmont Ave.
After completing the course we will immediately certify our students with the Secretary of State, and give Auto Metro Driving School Certification of Completion which is used toward high school graduation requirements.
The state of Illinois required from the students ages 15-17 (additionally to 6 hours of driving) to have “in car observation” which includes learning by observing other student driver. The 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction and observation may be exchange for 8 hours of private behind the wheel instruction (advanced course).
Our experienced instructors will do their best to provide with the highest quality service you expect. It is our desire to teach all students how to function safely as drivers in this highly motorized age.
Auto Metro Driving School Inc. wants to make sure to the teen student understand the law, understand their responsibilities in driving, understand some basic mechanics, and understand defensive driving techniques.
